couples therapy intensives
I offer Couples Therapy Intensives for partners who want meaningful change in a focused, immersive format. Intensives are designed for couples who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or at a crossroads-and who want to move beyond weekly sessions to create real momentum.
Drawing from Gottman Method Couples Therapy, intensives provide dedicated time to slow down, understand core patterns, and rebuilt trust, emotional safety, and connection. Together, we identify what’s been keeping you disconnected and develop practical, research-informed tools to help you communicate more effectively and navigate conflict with greater clarity and care.
Couples Therapy Intensives are especially helpful for couples navigating chronic conflict, communication breakdowns, betrayal or ruptures of trust, life transitions, or when time feels limited and change feels urgent. Each intensive is thoughtfully customized to your relationship and your goals.
Two Day Couples Therapy Intensives include
7 hours total (3 hours per day over 2 days, plus 1 hour follow up session)
Gottman-Informed assessment and interventions
Written relationship summary with tools and practices
Focus on communication, repair and emotional connection
Time between days for reflection and integration
Intensive is completed over the course of 1 week
Sessions are held in my private downtown Napa Valley office, offering a calm, discreet setting for deep relational work. Whether you’re seeking repair, reconnection, or a renewed foundation for your relationship, intensives offer a powerful opportunity to reset and move forward with intention.
The Gottman Approach
The Gottman Method is a highly respected, research-based approach to couples therapy grounded in decades of study on what makes relationships succeed—or fail. This model focuses on:
Improving communication and conflict management
Strengthening friendship, intimacy, and emotional connection
Increasing trust, respect, and shared meaning
Reducing criticism, defensiveness, stonewalling, and contempt
Creating sustainable, long-term relationship change
Rather than simply talking about problems, we work with clear tools and structured interventions that help couples understand why conflict happens and how to respond differently.
Who I work with:
I work with couples at many stages, including:
Couples feeling disconnected or emotionally distant
High-conflict couples who feel stuck in repetitive arguments
Couples navigating life transitions, stress, or parenting challenges
Partners seeking to strengthen an already solid relationship
Couples wanting a more intentional, conscious, and resilient partnership
A grounded, relational experience
My approach integrates Gottman research with relational and nervous-system awareness, allowing couples to slow down, feel understood, and practice new ways of being together in real time.
If you’re seeking couples therapy that is evidence-based, compassionate, and focused on lasting change, Gottman Method–informed work may be a strong fit.
How I work with couples:
Couples therapy with me is active, thoughtful, and emotionally attuned. I provide a balanced, supportive space where both partners feel heard while also gently challenging patterns that are no longer serving the relationship.
Our work may include:
Identifying recurring conflict cycles
Strengthening emotional attunement and repair
Learning practical communication and conflict skills
Rebuilding trust after rupture or betrayal
Deepening intimacy and shared goals
This process is collaborative and respectful, with an emphasis on helping couples feel safe and more connected.
